Machinable Glass Ceramic:

The most outstanding feature of glass-ceramic ceramics is that they can be machined, milled, planed, ground, drilled, sawn and tapped using standard metalworking tools and equipment. The glass-ceramics have similar processing properties to cast iron, and they can be processed into a variety of products with complex shapes and high precision requirements. Although the glass-ceramic ceramic is a brittle and hard material, as long as the processing route and the clamping method are reasonably determined, the processing method is paid attention to, and the cutting amount is accurately selected. The tolerance level of the general equipment can be controlled at the IT7 level, and the finish is 0.5 μm. It is completely feasible to control the machining accuracy at 0.005mm. If the processing equipment is excellent and the operation technology is skilled, the precision can reach μ level.
