What is the development history of Passive Optical Network (PON)?

PON (Passive Optical Network) is a point-to-multipoint passive optical fiber access technology, which originated in the 1990s. From the development of narrowband PON technology to the current various broadband PON technologies, the development of PON technology has gone through multiple stages: narrowband PON technology-APON technology-EPON technology-GPON technology-WDM PON or other.

FBT WDM, also known as Fused Biconic Taper WDM and FBT WDM Splitter, along with LAN WDM Splitter, Filter WDM splitter, dense WDM splitter and coarse WDM splitter, are the most commonly used WDM device in construction of PON.
