What is glare?

Glare is the loss of visual function or discomfort due to light intensity in the field of vision being greater than the light intensity to which the eye is adapted. In another words, glare occurs when too much light enters people’s eyes and interferes with eyes’ ability to manage it. Glare may come directly from the source or be reflected. It can cause discomfort and damage vision.

Glare issues often occur in indoor lighting or outdoor light systems when lamps are directly visible. Glare from LED lighting can be prevented by using lamps with the proper beam shape and making sure they are installed correctly.
