At present, the commonly used weld lap methods include: Double / multi overlap lap, fillet weld, flange butt weld. At present, different parts of the body adopt different lapping methods, mainly due to the consideration of the base metal material, weld strength, appearance and welding cost.
The double / multi-layer overlap anchor of robot laser welding machine makes the gap between plates form, and it is easy to exhaust volatile gas. The gap distance between plates must be between 0.2 – 0.3 mm. If the gap is too small, the exhaust effect is poor, and if the gap is too large, the weld is easy to collapse, which puts forward high requirements for the accuracy of anchoring equipment, increases the production process and reduces the production efficiency.
