The discharge capacity of lead-acid batteries is lower than that of lithium-ion batteries. If the lead-acid battery releases too much energy, it will impair its ability to store energy. A study by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) found that if lead-acid batteries are discharged to 50%, there will be approximately 1,800 cycles before the energy storage capacity drops. If it is discharged to 80%, it can only maintain 600 cycles, and then the energy storage capacity will decrease. However, lithium-ion batteries have a deeper discharge capacity.
