The exhaust fuel pressure sensor is located at the engine outlet, just before the turbocharger. Sometimes the second sensor is located before the diesel particulate filter. If a third sensor exists, it may be located at the exit of the emission control device. There are two other types of sensors. The so-called PTC(positive temperature coefficient) and NTC(negative temperature coefficient) models. The resistance of the former increases with temperature, while that of the latter does the opposite. However, the overall operation is similar, as the goal is to transmit information to the ECUs to optimise the pressure inside the turbocharger and, more broadly, along the exhaust line. However, sometimes the machine gets stuck... Over the course of miles or years, sensors can become damaged and may need to be replaced. First check any fault code using a diagnostic use case. If no exception code is displayed, continue to check for excessive corrosion, distortion, or loosening of the connector. Unplug the sensor and clean it thoroughly to remove any potential grease deposits that could interfere with its operation. Finally, you can measure the voltage on the sensor connector, which should be 5 volts. If abnormal is found, it is better to replace the exhaust fuel sensor.
