The fuel pressure sensor, also known as the fuel pressure transmitter, is used to control the fuel pressure in the oil circuit, maintain a constant fuel supply pressure in the fuel injector, and send excess fuel back to the tank. The fuel pressure sensor is composed of a printed circuit board, sensor element, spacer block and shell. It has a pressure chamber, a diaphragm with a relief valve in the inner cavity, a vacuum chamber on the diaphragm side, and a spring in the inner cavity. The pressure sensor is located in the high pressure fuel pump, which measures the fuel pressure in the low pressure fuel system. The fuel low pressure transmitter is mounted on the high pressure fuel pump. The engine control unit uses a fuel pressure transmitter to regulate the fuel pressure in the low pressure fuel system. After receiving this signal, the engine control unit will send a signal to the fuel pump control unit, which will adjust the fuel pump according to the actual needs. If the pressure sensor signal is interrupted and the fuel pressure cannot be adjusted as needed, the fuel pressure will always remain at a fixed value.
