The CNG/LPG differential pressure sensor (DPS) monitors the performance of diesel particulate filter (DPF). The pressure sensor works by measuring exhaust pressure upstream and downstream of the vehicle's DPF. By monitoring the pressure difference between these two points, the saturation level of the particle filter can be determined, and the vehicle's ECUs can interpret this data to determine when to inject diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) for regeneration. When troubleshooting an engine sensor, it is recommended to first look for any visible signs of damage. Inspect all connections, starting with the sensor electrical connector, and look for any damage, such as cracking or melting. Any damaged wiring will need to be replaced. Next, check the hose connected to the sensor. Again, look for any damage, such as cracking or melting.
