Principle of brake pressure sensor: As the pressure increases, the length of the diaphragm and the length of the piezoresistive measuring bridge connected to it changes. When the length changes, the piezoelectric element in the bridge is stressed, thus changing the charge distribution in the piezoelectric element. When the charge distribution changes, the electrical characteristics of the bridge element also change. The electrical signal is proportional to the pressure and is transmitted to the control unit as an amplified sensor signal. When the brake pressure sensor fails, the ESP function is reduced to ABS and EBV(electronic brake force distribution) function. The core component of brake pressure sensor is piezoelectric element on which brake hydraulic force is used. The other is sensor electronics. If brake fluid pressure is applied to the piezoelectric element, the charge distribution on the element changes. If there is no pressure, the charge distribution is uniform; When pressure is applied, the distribution of electric charges in space changes, resulting in a voltage. The higher the pressure, the stronger the charge separation tendency and the higher the voltage generated. This voltage is amplified by the electronics and sent as a signal to the control unit. Thus, the voltage level is a direct reflection of the braking pressure.
