Product Description

A plate and frame filter press works by separating solids from liquids through the use of pressure and a series of filter plates and frames. The filter press consists of a series of alternating plates and frames, with each plate having a filter cloth on both sides. The plates and frames are arranged in a stack and held together by a hydraulic cylinder or manual screw.

The process begins by pumping the slurry or liquid mixture into the filter press. The liquid passes through the filter cloth and the solids are trapped on the cloth, forming a cake. As more slurry is pumped in, the cake continues to build up, creating a pressure differential between the inlet and outlet of the filter press.

Once the cake has formed, the hydraulic cylinder or manual screw is used to apply pressure to the plates and frames, compressing the cake and squeezing out any remaining liquid. The filtered liquid then exits the filter press through a series of channels and outlets.

The plate and frame filter press is commonly used in industries such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, food and beverage, and wastewater treatment.
