The 3/2mm thickness is well-balanced. It provides certain thermal insulation, keeping the body warm in open water. At the same time, the short sleeve and shorts style doesn't overly restrict flexibility and freedom of movement during swimming. It is designed to fit the child's body comfortably, reducing any discomfort or chafing that might occur during prolonged use. This allows the child to stay focused on their performance without being distracted by an uncomfortable wetsuit.
