How do I start making enamel pins?     

They are many step and process to make custom enamel pin badge.

Design custom badges artwork. The commonly used software for badge artwork design includes Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Corel Draw.

Make the metal pin badge personalized mold, heat treatment of the mold to strengthen the hardness of the mold. 

Pressing. The frequently heat treated mold is installed on the press table, and the pattern is transferred to the copper sheet or iron sheet and other different seal making materials 
Punching. Using a pre-made knife die, the product according to its shape, with a punch to wash the product down. 
Polishing. Put the products washed down by the die into the polishing machine to polish, remove the stamping burr, and improve the finish of the products. Solder the back of the product to the standard parts of the badge or customer requirements. 
The custom metal badge is needed electroplated and colored. According to customer requirements, the pin badge custom can be electroplated, gold plating, silver plating, nickel plating, copper plating,gun black plating and so on.
