  Signal redistribution is achieved through negotiation on CC channel. The interface can enter two modes, peripheral mode and alternative mode. To enter peripheral mode, a simple logic check will be performed on the CC channel to determine which peripheral mode is required. To enter the alternative mode, the CC channel will use biphase mark code (BMC) for two-way communication to set up the link correctly.
