For the most of time, we package the IR receiver as through-hole LED type(DIP LED type). But for some application, we will package it as SMD SMT infrared receivers type also. It's look like 3528 IR LED. But as you can see, we make it with totally black lens in IR photodiode. Then you must confused, what's the function for the black lens? As we know, for photodiode, we need it to receive just 940nm LED(or some specific wavelength or specific range of wavelength). So we use black lenses to filter the rest of the wavelength that we don't want it to receive. Do you need some IR receiver for your application?
