Which means this 730nm IR LED can handle more current than the common 0.2W or 0.5W IR LED. Commonly, under the max current, the more current you use on the LED, the more brightness you will get on the LED. Because of the big size LED chip and high current, we will see a dim red spot when this 3W 730nm LED is working. As we know, high power LED will make some extra heat when it working with the high current. And the high temperature will kill the lifespan of the LED.
