940nm LED that can handle 300mA operation current is the 2016FIRC94E14I100. This LED has a peak wavelength of 940nm, a maximum forward current of 300mA, and a typical forward voltage of 1.5V. It also has a high radiant intensity of 120mW/sr at 300mA. 300mA is a high operation current for most of SMD LED or throgh-hole LED. And high operation will kill some small or low power LED. But in this 2016FIRC94E20I300, it can working good in 300mA because we produce it with 2016 SMD LED case. That SMD LED frame are similar with 2835 SMD LED, which also have a cooling pad on the bottome of LED. That makes the heat can be disatching timely during it's working.
