This 5050WC-45K28L4W is a 5050 white LED that made with 6 pads LED frame. From the picture you can see, there have 6 pads on the back of LED for the circuit connection. One side is for anode and the other size will for cathode. When we talk about white SMD LED or White through-hole LED, people will always emphasize color temperature and the CRI. Then what's the color temperature and the CRI means? 

Normally, there will have kinds of white will be emitted from 5050 white SMD LED, 3528 White SMD LED or 5mm white through-hole LED, whatever which type of white LED(SMD LED or Through-hole LED). Some of this white color will be looks like yellow LED color, which will emits super gold yellow color, some of it will emits light blue color and some of them will emits the color like the sunlight. In this case, we will use colo temperature to distingguish those white LED. From 1000K to 20000K, the more numbers, the more blue color the white LED will get inside.

Color rendering index (CRI) refers to the visual perception ability of the light source to restore objects to the sun. Manufacturing Process of SMD LED:

When we produce this LED, we will need to prepare the LED chip. This is the first step; Secondly, we need to fixing the chip into our 5050 SMD LED frame. And thirdly, we need to use the pure gold wire to connect the circuit inside. Then we will fill up the LED frame with epoxy and phosphor(if we were produce the white SMD LED), which can protect LED chip from external force damage. Because of the epoxy is liquid, we need to dry it by the oven for 8 hours at least. Until now, we had done most of the production things. 

After we take this LED from oven, we need to put all the LED to the sorting machine in order to separate LED with different bin(or voltage). 

The last step is to package it as a reel~

HANDLING PRECAUTIONS:

Compare to epoxy encapsulant that is hard and brittle, silicone is softer and flexible Althouth its characteristiec significantly reduces thermal stress, it is more susceptible to damage by extemal mechanical force. As a result, special handling precautions need to be observed during assembly using silicone encapsulated Led products. Failure to comply might lead to damage and premature failure of the led

1. Handle the component along the side surfaces by using forceps or appropriate tools.

2, Do not directly touch or handle the silicone lens surface. It may damage the internal circuitry.

3, Do not stack together assembled PCBS containing exposed LEDs. Impact may scratch the silicone lens or damage the internal circuitry.

4, 4-A The inner diameter of the SMD pickup nozzle should not exceed the size of the LED to prevent air leaks;

    4-B A plible material is suggested for the nozzle tip to avoid acratching or damaging the LED surface during pickup.

    4-C The dimension of the component must be accurately programmed in the pick-and-place machine to insure precise pickup and avoid damage during production;

    4-D As silicone encapsulation is permeable to gases, some corrosive substances such as H2S might corrode silver plationg of leadframe. Special care should be taken if an LED with silicone encapsulation is to used near such substances.

5, Please aviod continued exposure to the condensing moisture environment and keep the product away from repid transitions in ambiemt temperature.

6, Product in the original sealed package is recommended to be assembled within 24 hours of opening.
