How do I know my LED is SMD?

There just got two kinds of LED diode: SMD LED and DIP LED; Both of this type of LED can emits different color and brightness. All depends on the chip inside. From the name we can know, SMD LED is a surface mount device and DIP LED is dual in line LED. For the former, there just got the soldering pad on the bottom of led diode. For the later, there will have a pins under the luminous body.
