So that it can handle more current than other white SMD LED. This super bright natural white LED is a phosphor converted white LED. As you can see the picture as follow: we covered the yellow phosphor on the top of SMD LED. Under the phosphor, there have a blue LED chip. When we turn on the the light, the phosphor will convert part of blue light to a yellow light, the remain blue light will be mixed with yellow light that had been changed by phosphor. Same as the reason: red+green=yellow light, red+green+blue= white light, blue+yellow=white light~
