Alumina Ceramics:

Chemical Alumina is a general term for various alumina, aluminum hydroxide and aluminum-containing compounds in addition to metallurgical grade alumina. It is collectively referred to as non-metallurgical grade alumina in the world. It is also commonly known as multi-species alumina in China. Processes that differ in performance from metallurgical grade alumina are often referred to as specialty aluminas. There are many kinds of chemical aluminas. According to the non-ferrous metal industry standard YS/ton 619-2007 "Chemical Alumina Types and Brand Nomenclature", chemical aluminas are classified into five categories according to chemical composition: aluminum hydroxide series, special alumina. Series, pseudo-boehmite series, zeolite series and calcium aluminate cement series. Now, aluminum salts such as polyaluminum chloride, aqueous sodium aluminosilicate, and fluoride salts, sodium aluminate, gallium and gallium compounds, partial alumina ceramics, and corundum refractories are also included in the chemical alumina range. In 1910, Alcoa produced and sold the world's top batch of calcined alumina, which was used as a raw material for the production of white corundum abrasives. The chemical alumina is characterized by many varieties, high added value, high technical content, wide application fields, continuous expansion, relatively stable price and environmental friendliness. Therefore, it has become a very important branch of the aluminum industry. Countries around the world have invested heavily in the development of the chemical alumina industry. Alcoa was once the world's largest producer of chemical alumina. It has 24 manufacturing companies in all major countries and regions, producing more than 220 varieties. The output exceeds 1000k tons/a. The chemical alumina sector was transferred to the Dutch company Almaty in 2007.
