Ball Chair, a classic of the design history, was created by Finnish furniture designer Eero Aarnio in 1963 and even now it still leads by example in design.

Eero Aarnio is known for his designs in plastic, and for this chair he started with a simple form of a ball and cutting a part of it. The result also gives to the user a personal and private space.

What I particularly like about this is how this chair turns into a design icon with such a basic geometric form and minimal elements.

This unique sphere-shaped chair adds a casual, futuristic element to any setting. Ideal for large rooms or commercial spaces.



The Ball Chair was designed by using one of the most simple geometric forms: The ball. By lopping off one end and fixing it at one point Eero Aarnio comes to a remarkable result - a supremely unconventional chair.

A Ball Chair is a 'room within a room' with a cozy and calm atmosphere, protected from outside noises it provides a private space for relaxing or a phone call. Spinning on its own axis the view to the outer world is variable for the user and offers a degree of privacy. The ball chair is something between a piece of furniture and a piece of architecture and at the same time embodies both the mobile and the established.
